Looking for Developers12. Jun 2010

Due to my limited time that I find for developing SomaView further I am looking for Android Devs that want to cooperate and take SomaView to the next step. I have already done quite some work in extending SomaView but never got the time to finish it. I am quite open in which direction this can go. Drop me a mail - including your experience with Android - if you are interested in working with me on SomaView.

XArp for Linux - public beta26. May 2010

The public beta program for the XArp Linux version will run for several weeks from now on. The final XArp 2.1.0 for Windows and Linux platforms will then be released mid summer, featuring a new licensing model. XArp will be freely available as a basic version, providing full ARP spoofing detection on predefined security levels. A professional version will be available as paid upgrade, enabling fine-tuning and tweaking into the active and passive detection modules.

Grab the deb packages:

Make sure that required dependencies are installed:
  • sudo apt-get install libwxgtk2.8-0 libxerces-c3 libpcap0.8 libc6
To install, run
  • sudo dpkg -i xarp.deb
XArp will be installed in /usr/bin/xarp. You require root priviledges, otherwise the network interfaces will fail to be opened. In GNOME-based desktops (and hopefully others) you can stark XArp from the menu unter the Network/Internet category. If this is not the case, start XArp by running
  • sudo xarp
Finally: send in your feedback! Most valuable feedback wins a free registration key for the professional version!
